How to Choose the Perfect Engraving Design for Your Wallet
With more than 70 designs in our library, plus the option to upload your own logo or artwork, choosing what goes on your wallet can be the hardest part. Here is how to narrow it down and end up with a wallet you will love for years.
Start with what they love
The best engraved wallets tell you something about the person carrying them. Ask yourself:
- What do they do on weekends? Hunting, fishing, riding, camping, wrenching?
- What do they do for work? Lineman, first responder, rancher, pilot, nurse?
- Where do they feel at home? The mountains, the coast, the ranch, a small town?
- What do they believe in? Faith, country, family?

Bold and simple engraves best
A laser engraving is one color on one color: bright white on your wallet color. Designs with clear shapes, strong silhouettes and clean lines look the sharpest. That is why mountain ranges, elk, flags and emblems are so popular. They read clearly from across the room.
If you are uploading your own image, a logo or a simple drawing works much better than a busy, detailed image. We aren’t taking photo uploads right now.
Landscape or portrait?
Our metal wallets come in two orientations:
- Landscape (wide) is the classic look and fits scenes like mountain ranges, flags and wildlife walking across the wallet.
- Portrait (tall) suits single subjects like a standing bear, a lighthouse, a cross or a rodeo rider.
Pick the orientation that matches the shape of the design and it will fill the wallet nicely.
Match the color to the design
Because the engraving shows as white, contrast matters:
- Black, blue, wine red and purple give the strongest contrast, so every detail pops.
- Army green is a natural fit for hunting and outdoor designs.
- Red, orange, pink and bright green make a bold statement.
- The titanium finish (aluminum with a titanium look and a rainbow finish) is eye-catching on its own, and lighter, simpler designs work best on it.

Add the finishing touch
