White or Black? How to Pick Your Prism Tumbler
Every Prism Tumbler has the same rainbow hiding under its coat. The only question is what color that coat is. White or black? Here’s how each one looks and how to pick.
How a Prism Tumbler works
Each one starts as a 20 oz stainless steel tumbler with a rainbow finish under a powder coat, in white or black. Our laser takes the coat off only where the design goes, so the rainbow shows through in the shape of a hummingbird, a rose or a sea turtle. Turn the cup and the colors shift in the light.
Every Prism Tumbler is engraved on both sides (the same design front and back, except the sunflower cup, which has the saying on the back), comes with a slide lid, and is hand wash only. We engrave every one here in Redmond, Oregon.
White: soft and bright
On white, the rainbow reads soft and cheerful, like a watercolor. Fine detail stands out clean, so flower designs like the plumeria and hibiscus look delicate and light. White is a great pick for someone who likes a bright, fresh look, or for a summer cup by the pool.
Black: bold and glowing
On black, the same rainbow looks like it’s lit from inside. The colors pop harder, and bold designs like the sea turtles and the hummingbird really glow. Black is a great pick for someone who likes a sleek look.
The designs come in both colors
Every design on the Prism page comes in white or black. You pick the color on each design. Here are all 10:

- Twin Dolphins: two dolphins leaping in a circle.
- Butterflies: butterflies in flight.

- Hibiscus: a trail of hibiscus flowers.
- Seven Sea Turtles: seven sea turtles swimming in a curve.
- Eternal Rose: a single long-stem rose.

Is the rainbow the same on white and black?
Yes. Both have the same rainbow finish underneath. It just looks different against each color. The exact colors vary a little from cup to cup.
Is the design on both sides?
Yes. Every Prism Tumbler has the same design on the front and the back. The one exception is In a World of Roses, Be a Sunflower, which has the sunflower on one side and the saying on the other.
How do I wash it?
Hand wash only.
